(All times are given in Tehran Local Time (UTC+3:30))
The Women in Mathematics Day event aims, on one hand, to introduce its audience to various research areas through presentations by professors from different fields of mathematical sciences, opening a window onto the diverse landscapes of the world of mathematics. On the other hand, it seeks to emphasize the importance of participation and inclusion of all groups in the teaching and learning of mathematics. This event, now in its second year at Sharif University and organized by the Scientific Association of the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences (Hamband), will be held more extensively this year over four days.
The first three days of the event—from Thursday, May 8 to Saturday, May 10—will feature virtual presentations in the morning, noon, and evening sessions, with speakers from various mathematical disciplines. Each presentation will offer insights into a particular branch of mathematical sciences and introduce its key concepts. May 12, which marks the International Women in Mathematics Day, will be dedicated to an in-person and large-scale event featuring a variety of programs and talks. This closing event, scheduled from 4 PM to 8 PM on Monday, will serve as the culmination of the four-day program and aims to fulfill all the goals envisioned for this celebration—so be sure to join us!
