May 12 - International Day of Women in Mathematics in North Macedonia

To mark the International Day of Women in Mathematics, we are organising a special film screening dedicated to the life and work of Maryam Mirzakhani. The documentary Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani explores her groundbreaking contributions to mathematics and her inspiring personal journey. The film will be screened with English subtitles on May 20, 2026, starting at 6 p.m., at the University of Information Science and Technology “St. Paul the Apostle” in Ohrid.

This event aims to celebrate women in mathematics and to inspire students and the academic community through the story of one of the most remarkable mathematicians of our time.
