May 12 Celebration of Greek Women in Mathematics

GWM, in cooperation with the Faculty of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, invite you to the showing of the film

Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani (2020)

on May 12th, 2023  in Room Δ31 of the Faculty of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Doors open at 18:45.

Showing starts at 19:00. 

After the end of the film, a discussion will follow until 21:00.

Moreover, as part of the May 12 Celebration of Greek Women in Mathematics, the University of Western Macedonia will host the exhibition Women of Mathematics throughout Europe - A gallery of portraits from the 2nd to the 12th of May in the Main Library, as well as a lecture by Professor Sofia Lambropoulou (NTUA), who is a member of the GWM Executive Board. The lecture will take place on the 12th of May at 11:00 in the Great Amphitheater of the University of Western Macedonia in Kastoria.
