Exhibition "Women in mathematics from around the world"

The exhibition "Women in mathematics from around the world" by Sylvie Paycha and Noel Matoff will be shown for about two weeks in the new building of the Mathematical Seminar at Kiel University, starting on May 10, 2023. The exhibition in Kiel will be flanked by several events, starting with an opening ceremony on May 10. Besides an introduction to the exhibition there will be talks by Dr. Nicola Oswald on gender aspects in mathematics and by Prof. Dr. Mareike Fischer as a part of the lecture series "Women in Mathematics".

In addition, we will show the film "Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani" on May 12 (which is Maryam Mirzakhani's birthday) and May 17. Lastly, we will have the opportunity to meet the curators Sylvie Paycha and Noel Matoff on May 19. In an interview via Zoom they will tell us about the background and their experiences with their work.
