Join us for the 2026 International Women in Mathematics Day celebration on Sunday May 10, 2026.

• Morning: 2026 UNNC Mathematics Festival - mathematical games, discovery, and arts-in-mathematics activities for high-school students from Ningbo
• Early afternoon: Public lecture by Visiting Professor John King (University of Nottingham, UK)
• Afternoon: Honoring Sophie Germain on her 250th birthday, including a special screening of the short film “Je suis Sophie Germain”.

This is a unique opportunity for everyone who truly enjoys mathematics to share their passion for mathematics and participate in mathematical games and discussions. The faculty and student-run support team is taking guests through the enjoyment and exploration of mathematical ideas which are not commonly seen in the usual curriculum. The celebration is free and open to all participants with registration.  

It's encouraging that UNNC's School of Mathematical Sciences, which was the first and only university in China to celebrate International Women in Mathematics Day in 2024 and 2025, has now been joined by other universities in 2026 - a positive sign that the initiative is gaining well-deserved recognition in China.
