The Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers (ACEMS) is proud to present a digital display of the exhibit, "Remember Maryam Mirzakhani". The digital exhibition will feature 18 original posters celebrating the life of Maryam Mirzakhani, the only woman to ever win the top award in mathematics, the Fields Medal. Maryam was only 40 years old when she died in 2017 from breast cancer.
To remember her, International Women in Mathematics Day is now celebrated annually now on her birthday, 12 May.
The exhibition first opened at (WM)², the World Meeting for Women in Mathematics, and remained open during ICM 2018. (Curator: Thais Jordao. Designer: Rafael Meireles Barroso.)
