We are delighted to invite you to the 1st WMSC Workshop: Portraits of Women in Mathematical Sciences in Cyprus  (program attached) organised by the newly founded Women in Mathematical Sciences in Cyprus (WMSC) network, hosted at the Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING) on May, 12th 2023. This workshop joins several international celebrations of the Women in Mathematics International Day as part of the May12: Celebrating Women in Mathematics initiative.

Esta celebración consistirá en 6 minicharlas sobre algún aspecto relevante de la investigación matemática de 6 mujeres matemáticas de reconocido prestigio. En esta ocasión tendremos el gusto de escuchar las siguientes intervenciones: 

The high school girls who are participating in a GEM (Girls Exploring Math) event go to the university to spend a day learning about mathematics and discussing the issue of gender representation in scientific fields. They interact with professional mathematicians, discover unexpected aspects of the discipline, and break down the stereotypes that link gender and STEM.

For this edition, we have reached the record number of 230 participants.

<Korean Women in Mathematical Science> was established in 2004 to contribute to the development and dissemination of mathematical science and technology by promoting academic development and active exchange of Korean mathematicians, and expanding the base of female mathematicians.

Deakin’s Women in Mathematics and IT 2023 event is focused on the achievements of women mathematicians who work in multidisciplinary domains, to promote mathematics and information technology (IT) as career paths to girls and women in mathematics, IT and engineering and to showcase career paths of women in academia and industry. 

Are you interested in mathematics/statistics/data science and wondering where it could lead you? Wondering what tales and tips your future self might have? In this forum you will hear from three engaging speakers at different career stages and then can enjoy lunch to get to know your community better.

The Department of Mathematics at IISER Bhopal is organizing a half-a-day workshop on May 12, 2023 to celebrate the International Women in Mathematics Day under the May 12 initiative. We plan to have talks by our women alumni of our PhD programme and a panel discussion on ‘Life during and after Ph.D. at IISER Bhopal’.
