We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the celebration and showcasing of African Women in Mathematics. The title of the project is Celebrating African Women in Mathematics and will be held on the 12th of May 2024, a day set aside by women globally to celebrate Women in Mathematics.
We aim at creating awareness about the importance of gender diversity in the mathematics. This is in line with our theme: ‘Strengthening the Work-life Balance of African Women in Mathematics Through Collaborative Research in Pairs’ a research initiative by the Network of African Female Mathematics Research Promoters (NAFeMReP), with funding from the Committee for Women in Mathematics, IMU and CRAFS (Centre for Resilient Agri-Food Systems), Malawi.
Participate by choosing any one of the following:
1. TikTok Short Video Challenge (up to 30 seconds): Talk about a remarkable African woman in Mathematics, what she has done and why she inspires you
2. Mathematical Poetry Challenge: Express your passion for mathematics through the art of poetry by writing an original poem that explores mathematical concepts, principles, or experiences in creative and imaginative ways.
A 20 Euros prize await winners of each of the Tiktok short video and mathematical poetry.
Deadline for making your submission is May 7th, 2024.
