Mujeres en matemáticas: diversos caminos, diversas historias

Con motivo de la celebración del día internacional de las mujeres en
matemáticas el cual se celebra cada año en honor a la matemática iraní
Maryam Mirzakhani, primera mujer en recibir la medalla Fields de
matemáticas en 2014, tenemos el agrado de invitarle al evento presencial
“Mujeres en matemáticas: diversos caminos, diversas historias“, el cual
incluirá charlas, panel de conversación y otras entretenidas actividades, para
el día 8 de mayo desde las 12:00 hasta las 16:00 horas en la Facultad de
Ciencias de la Universidad de Chile, ubicada en Las Palmeras 3425, Ñuñoa,
Santiago. 

El programa de actividades contempla:

13:00-13:15 hrs Llegada de colegios (aprox 150 estudiantes) a la Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad de Chile, Las Palmeras 3425, Ñuñoa, Santiago
13:15-14:20 hrs Visita por turnos al laboratorio de matemáticas LABMAT Alicia Labra por grupo y tour por la facultad, a cargo del grupo de comunicación de las matemáticas COMPAS uchile. 
14:30-16:00 hrs Evento para toda la comunidad y colegios "Mujeres en matemáticas: diversos caminos, diversas historias" en el Auditorio María Ghilardi de la Fac. de Ciencias. En este evento, la profesora Anita Rojas presentará una charla de divulgación, título por definir. Luego habrá un panel de conversación sobre los caminos diversos que se pueden tomar para trabajar con las matemáticas. Estarán las profesoras Denisse Pastén (Física, uchile), Francisca Ubilla (PUC), Michelle Bravo (Colegio Pura Sangre), Estudiante de posgrado matemáticas, Valentina Moreno (Mat, uchile).

"Women in Mathematics: Diverse Paths, Diverse Stories", which will include talks

Sciences of the Universidad de Chile, located at Las Palmeras 3425, Ñuñoa,
Santiago. 

The program of activities includes:

13:00-13:15 hrs Arrival of schools (approx 150 students) at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Chile, Las Palmeras 3425, Ñuñoa, Santiago.
13:15-14:20 hrs Visit by turns to the mathematics laboratory LABMAT Alicia Labra per group and tour of the faculty, in charge of the mathematics communication group COMPAS uchile. 
14:30-16:00 hrs Event for the whole community and schools "Women in mathematics: diverse paths, diverse stories" in the Maria Ghilardi Auditorium of the Faculty of Sciences. In this event, Professor Anita Rojas will present a talk, title to be defined. Then there will be a panel discussion on the different paths that can be taken to work with mathematics.
