Panel Discussion: Women Pioneers Who Shaped Mathematics in Serbia

This panel discussion celebrates the groundbreaking contributions of women who paved the way for future generations in the field of mathematics in Serbia. The session will open with a brief overview of the history of women in mathematics in Serbia, highlighting key moments and milestones in their journey toward academic and professional recognition.

Following the historical introduction, the discussion will feature personal reflections from three distinguished panelists - Professor Dr Neda Bokan, Professor Dr Desanka Radunović, and Professor Dr Vera Vujčić. These trailblazing women were among the first in Serbia to earn doctoral degrees in mathematics and to hold professorships at Serbian universities. The panel will be moderated by Professor Dr Vesna Todorčević.

Their experiences, challenges, and achievements offer valuable insight into both the evolution of the academic landscape and the enduring impact of their work.

Join us as we honor their legacy and reflect on the importance of inclusion and visibility in the mathematical sciences.
