Description and practical details

In occasion of "May 12, Celebrating Women in Mathematics", the University of L'Aquila and the Gran Sasso Science Institute are organising a gathering event to reflect on the role of women in mathematics. This event will take place on May 15, 2021 at LiberaMia in L’Aquila. An unconventional happy hour meeting featuring four passionate and brilliant young mathematicians pursuing academic research careers. Giada Cianfarani Carnevale (University of L'Aquila), Sara Daneri (GSSI), Federica Iacovissi (University of L'Aquila), and Cinzia Soresina (University of Trento) will share their experiences, illustrating what it means to be a mathematician and how they enrich their daily lives with the beauty of mathematics. This gathering aims to explore not only the academic paths and challenges faced within the realm of research but also the delicate balance between professional and personal life, offering authentic insights into what it means to be a woman and a mathematician in today’s world.
