On the occasion of the International Day of Women in Mathematics, the "Corso di Studi in Matematica" of the University of Cagliari, in collaboration with "PLS-Matematica", proposes an afternoon for May 12, 2025 entirely dedicated to female mathematicians. The event is mainly addressed at students and colleagues of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science but is obviously open to anyone interested. The programme includes a seminar by Prof. Elisabetta Strickland (University of Rome Tor Vergata), the launch of a student contest about women in Mathematics and a theatre play about the history of Emmy Noether. During the afternoon it will still be possible to visit the exhibition "Women in mathematics from the world. A gallery of portraits" hosted at the Palazzo delle Scienze since April 10.

- 15:45-16:30: Seminar “Donne e matematica: luci e ombre” (aula B) by Elisabetta Strickland, University of Rome “Tor Vergata”
- 16:30-17:00: Announcement of the Student Contest: “A tu per tu con una matematica” (aula B)
- 17:00-18:30: Theater play: “Simmetrie: la mirabolante storia di Emmy Noether” by the Teatro Boxer company (aula Magna ex Fisica)
- 18:30-19:30: Conclusion and visit to the exhibition “Women in Mathematics from around the world. A gallery of portraits.”
