Women in Mathematics: Experiences in Thailand and USA – A Seminar and Colloquium by Prof. Gaywalee Yamskulna

The Department of Mathematics at Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) is honored to host Professor Gaywalee Yamskulna from Illinois State University. (ISU) for a special event celebrating women in mathematics. This two-part session will provide a unique opportunity to engage with a distinguished Thai woman mathematician who has excelled academically both in Thailand and the USA.

The event will commence with a Colloquium on Vertex Algebras, where Professor Yamskulna will delve into her specialized research area for approximately 50 minutes. This will be followed by a thought-provoking Seminar titled "Women in Mathematics: Experiences in Thailand and USA." In this session, Professor Yamskulna will share her personal and professional journey, reflecting on the opportunities, challenges, and insights gained from her experiences in mathematical communities across two distinct cultural and academic landscapes. A moderated Q&A session will follow, inviting reflection and discussion from attendees regarding her invaluable perspective.
