The Catalan Mathematical Society is organizing a session to celebrate Women Day in Mathematics.
There will be two activities in this session. The first one will be Guadalupe Gómez's talk, "Florence Nightingale: A Role Model in the Twenty-First Century," in which she will discuss the significance of this legendary figure.
On the second part, we will enjoy the viewing of a documentary-style conversation between various Catalan women mathematicians. The purposes of this documentary are to present the different ways of being a mathematician woman in a fresh and dynamic format by showing a wide range of professional choices and different points of view, to make women in the mathematical field more visible and, as a consequence, to provide references for young women who want to enter the world of mathematics.
