The 3rd IMPA Mathematical Women Meeting - EMMI is organized by female students of the Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada
to celebrate the Women's Day in Mathematics and to promote a conversation about the reality of the academic career for women.
The 3rd EMMI will address issues intrinsic to the daily life of women in research, showing the transition from undergraduate to master, from master to doctorate and from doctorate to post-doctorate.
The gender gap in mathematics will be discussed and experiences will be exchanged among the participants.
The event will be broadcast and prior registration is required to participate.
Women in Mathematics Day was established in 2018 and the date of May 12 was chosen in honor of the birth of Maryam
Mirzakhani, the first mathematician to win the Fields Medal.
