Indian Institute of Information Technology Nagpur (India) is organising an International event in honour of Maryam Mirzakhani (May 12, 1977 – July 14, 2017), the only woman to win the Fields Medal for her outstanding contributions to “the dynamics and geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces”. It will be an online event.
Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) cordially invites you to join us in celebrating May 12: International Women in Mathematics Day, as part of the May12 initiative. On this occasion, we will have a talk by Professor Barbara Lee Keyfitz, The Ohio State University.

As part of "Celebrating Women in Mathematics in 2022" on May 12, the NUI Galway SIAM Chapter will host a talk on Zoom by
Prof Maeve McCarthy, Murray State University, on "Control of Mosquito Populations Through the Introduction of Sterile Mosquitoes". The talk describes how differential equations can be used to model of mosquito control, and introduces some optimal control theory. It is aimed at a general undergraduate audience.
In this event, we celebrate Professor Maryam Mirzakhani’s birthday as “Women in Mathematics Day”.
