Meet a Mathematician

On May 21, Ingrid Daubechies, host for 2023-24 of the monthly series Meet a Mathematician, will welcome Alice Chang, Fan Chung Graham, Winnie Li and Gloria Wu -- Ingrid sometimes calls them the "Fab 4". As undergraduates they were classmates at National Taiwan University, and formed a study group together that evolved into a close friendship that gave them a supporting anchor, first against the stereotypical expectation that they would not do as well in mathematics as male students, and subsequently during the challenges of juggling PhD studies, and later careers, with all the other aspects and responsibilities of life.  All four are now distinguished professors at top mathematics departments in the USA, respectively at Princeton, UCSD, Penn State, and the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.  Join host Ingrid Daubechies for an engaging and inspirational conversation with these four incredible women.
