We celebrate the Women in Mathematics Day by presenting the inspiring journey of a great Romanian Mathematician: Prof. Adelina Georgescu (1942-2010). In fact, her name is carried on by the award devoted to young mathematicians, award given by her family in collaboration with ROMAI (The Romanian Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, founded by A.G. in 1991).
On June 11, in the online seminar "Mathematics and Life" organized by the network Romanian Women in Mathematics, our colleague Anca Veronica Ion, who knew Adelina Georgescu closely, will give a talk on the achievements of this esteemed mathematician, offering an unique perspective on her life.
