Queensland University Technology, The University of Queensland and Griffith University invite you to our jointly organised Brisbane event for International Women in Mathematics Day:
Date: Thursday 14 May 2026
Time: 9:00am - 1.30pm
Venue: The Ship Inn, South Bank
Purpose: The event aims to:
- Showcase the research of local women mathematicians.
- Connect mathematics researchers across Brisbane's universities, government and industry.
- Support career development of women, trans and gender diverse people as well as early career mathematicians more broadly.
While this conference is held in celebration of International Women in Mathematics Day, it is not exclusively for women and gender-diverse individuals. We warmly welcome participants of all genders, including allies. Individuals at all career stages, from academia, government and industry, working across mathematics, statistics, and data science are encouraged to attend.
The career development discussions will particularly support early-to-mid career mathematicians, including undergraduate, honours and HDR students as well as individuals juggling work alongside caring responsibilities and individuals without continuing positions.
