To celebrate the International Day of Women in Mathematics,
MaddMaths! and the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pisa
are organizing a training afternoon for primary school teachers
on the topic of gender issues in mathematics.
16:00. Introduction by Barbara Nelli and Giulia Lisarelli.
16:15. Chiara De Fabritiis and Chiara Giberti : Not an innate talent: analyzing the emergence of the gender gap in the classroom.
17:00. Ginevra Aquilina: Interpreting the gender gap in INVALSI mathematics tests through the analysis of pupils’ problem-solving processes in class.
17:45. Giulia Bernardi: Games, theorems, and paper cuttings: classroom activities for doing mathematics.
