The program includes a two-hour meeting in the conference room, organized as follows:

11:15 a.m. – Student-led reflection on the gender gap through a presentation

11:45 a.m. – Presentation of the documentary on Maria Gaetana Agnesi, an Italian mathematician who lived in the 18th century and was the first mathematician to hold a position as a lecturer at the University of Bologna. The video, designed and performed by a group of students from the 2AP class of the Classical High School of the I.I.S. Luosi-Pico in Mirandola (MO), won the competition organized by the Department of Mathematics of the University of Bologna as part of the project "Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy: Scientific Walks through the Streets of Bologna."

11:50 a.m. – Introduction to Maryam Mirzakhani, an Iranian mathematician who passed away in 2017 and was the first woman to receive the Fields Medal. May 12th was chosen as the date to celebrate women in mathematics in her honor (it is her birth date).

12:00 PM – Screening of the film "The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani"

1:00 PM – End of activities.
