2018 年国际数学家大会（ICM）正式将5月12日设立为“致敬女性数学工作者”的特殊日子，是全球数学界共同祝贺女性数学家杰出贡献的重要时刻。这一天也是首位女性菲尔兹奖得主——玛丽亚姆·米尔扎哈尼（Maryam Mirzakhani）的生日（1977年5月12日）。
Since its establishment at ICM 2018, May 12 has become a meaningful date for the mathematical community to celebrate women in the field. It marks the birthday (May 12, 1977) of Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman to win a Fields Medal.

To honor her legacy and the broader contributions of women in mathematics, we invite you to a special screening of Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani on May 16, from 4–7 pm. This will be a joyful gathering to celebrate how far women have come in mathematics and to reflect on the work still ahead. Come be inspired by Maryam's story and share your own journey in mathematics.
