The School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria will join the May12 initiative by promoting the film/documentary Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani within the school community.
As part of this participation, excerpts from the film will be shown on the school’s internal television screens, helping to raise awareness of Maryam Mirzakhani’s remarkable contribution to mathematics and of the significance of May12.
In addition, ESTG will organise a cinema session open to the academic community on 20 May 2026, where the full film will be screened for all interested participants, followed by a discussion and reflection on the film.
