Conference

As part of the activities of the project "Actividades para el día internacional de las mujeres en matemáticas" (Activities for the international day of Women in Mathematics), on may 16th there will be the inauguration of the exhibition "Remember Maryam Mirzakhani", together with a conference on the life and works of Maryam Mirzakhani and her importance in the mathematical world.

This is an activity organized by Universidad de La Frontera Departamento de Matemática y Estadística and Research Center Geometry at the Frontier.

As part of the activities of the project "Actividades para el día internacional de las mujeres en matemáticas" (Activities for the international day of Women in Mathematics), on may 23rd we organize a discussion about Mathematics and gender and the role of education. The activity is open to professors of Elementary and High schools of the Araucanía region.

The Tunisian Women Mathematicians Association (TWMA) plans to celebrate the day dedicated to women mathematicians in May at the Faculty of Sciences in Tunis by organizing a mathematical day on May 17, 2024.

We would be delighted to welcome the participation of anyone interested in mathematical research (men and women).

Important dates to note:

The Egyptian Association of Women in Mathematics will organize a Hybird event  on May 13 to celebrate the international day of women in mathematics. 

The event is thought for primary, lower secondary and upper secondary school teachers but it is also open to anyone who is interested. Alice Milani and Roberto Natalini will present two comics about the story of Sofia Kovalevskaja and Maryam Mirzakhani and Chiara Giberti will give a lecture on the topic "Gender gap in mathematics". 

A registration is needed.

This conference is dedicated to exploring Nonlinear Analysis and the profound heritage of Ancient Indian Mathematics. It serves as a platform for knowledge exchange among esteemed academicians and researchers, emphasizing the practical application of mathematical techniques to address real-world challenges. Encompassing Nonlinear Analysis, Pure and Applied Mathematics, the conference provides a global platform for emerging researchers to showcase insights, fostering cross-disciplinary dialogues on the relevance of Ancient Indian Mathematics.

The event consists of a survey talk given by Prof.Cristiana De Filippis of the University of Parma, Italy, on "Hybrid perturbations in elliptic regularity", with an opening address about  Celebrating Women in Mathematics, in honour of Maryam Mirzakhani, given by Prof. Isaubeau Birindelli, of the University of Rome Sapienza.

On the occasion of the birthday of Iranian mathematician, Maryam Mirzakhani, a celebration was held at Tarbiat Modares University of Iran (Women's Day in Mathematics).
This meeting was held in person on the afternoon of May 13, 2023. Also, some speakers sent video messages for the ceremony.

Para celebrar as Mulheres na Matemática, será promovido no Departamento de Matemática da UFSCar o III May 12 at UFSCar, com duas palestras relevantes sobre o tema principal e um tema correlato: 

Mulheres na Matemática: Por que somos tão poucas? 

Explorando as oportunidades do mundo da Matemática!

Ambas as palestras serão proferidas pela docente da UNB e Vice-Presidente da SBM, Profa. Dra. Jaqueline Mesquita.
