Opening of Imaginary - Celebration for International Women in Maths Day

The mathematics travelling exhibition Imaginary will be in Amsterdam in May, we have an official opening on May 12th in occasion of International Women in Maths day. We have a reach programme for the afternoon: 

- A presentation dedicated to the mathematical achievement of Maryna Viasovska.

- Lehmer's Dance and the maths behind it.

- A conversation with Claudia Flandoli (Science illustrator) dedicated to how to use comics in science communication.

Followed by drinks and snacks.

Mathemalchemy: an Art & Mathematics installation

Mathemalchemy (mathemalchemy.org) is a collaborative multi-media art installation that celebrates the beauty, the joy, the creativity and the fun of mathematics. Twenty-four mathematicians and artists designed and fabricated the installation over a two-year period, working by remote contact during the pandemic isolations and lockdowns. The completed piece has now started its career as a traveling exhibit; its is presently on view at the National Academy of Sciences building on Constitution Avenue in Washington DC, USA.

Día Internacional de la mujer matemática (Konrad Lorenz Foundation)

El Programa de Matemáticas de la Fundación Universitaria Konrad Lorenz invitan a toda la comunidad a unirse a la la conmemoración del Día Internacional de la Mujer en Matemáticas.

Realizaremos una exposición continua que busca resaltar a las mujeres matemáticas konradistas y a las mujeres matemáticas de la historia, por medio de proyectos de divulgación que han realizado estudiantes del programa. 

La exposición será presencial en la cafetería principal de la Institución y estaremos haciendo divulgación en redes. 

Women of Mathematics throughout Europe - A Gallery of portraits

The opening ceremony of the exhibition Women of Mathematics throughout Europe - A Gallery of portraits will take place on May 15th in the Armerija building, Koper, University of Primorska.  The speakers are the rector, prof. Klavdija Kutnar, the chair of the 8ECM organising committee, prof. Tomaž Pisanski and prof. Neža Mramor Kosta, the president of the Society of Mathematicians, Physicists and Astronomers of Slovenia.
