The Department of Mathematics at IISER Bhopal is organizing a half-a-day workshop on May 12, 2023 to celebrate the International Women in Mathematics Day under the May 12 initiative. We plan to have talks by our women alumni of our PhD programme and a panel discussion on ‘Life during and after Ph.D. at IISER Bhopal’.

A l’occasion de la journée internationale des femmes mathématiciennes, femmes et mathématiques organise une manifestation ouverte à toutes et tous, consacrée aux stéréotypes et aux gestes professionnels dans la classe de mathématiques.

- Favoriser la mixité dans les filières scientifiques et techniques

- Augmenter les effectifs dans les filières scientifiques et techniques

- Encourager les filles à s’intéresser aux mathématiques et aux sciences
numériques et plus tard se tourner vers des carrières scientifiques.

Nous avons choisi de célébrer la journée du 12 mai par la projection du film "Secrets of the Surface", quelques conférences et une table ronde pour débattre le présent et l"avenir des femmes en mathématiques au Maroc. Le programme précis et sur le site https://fs.uit.ac.ma/jifm23/.

Como parte das celebrações do 12 de maio de 2023, o POTIMÁTICAS vai organizar o IV Encontro de Mulheres Matemáticas, em parceria com o Departamento de Matemática da UFRN. O evento será realizado nos dias 11 e 12 de maio de 2023, nos turnos de tarde e noite.

Os objetivos são: dar visibilidade ao trabalho de mulheres matemáticas; estimular a presença feminina em carreiras de Matemática, Engenharia e Computação; capacitar os participantes de maneira técnica e discutir temas relacionados à igualdade de gênero. 

The Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (SLMath), formerly MSRI, celebrates May 12 with a panel discussion and social event open to all on the topic "Pathways in Mathematics". This is a hybrid workshop taking place on Zoom and in person at SLMath and satellite institutions.

``Women in Mathematics Day'' is observed annually on May 12th to mark the anniversary of the eminent female mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani's birth. She was an Iranian Mathematician and a Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University. She was one of the world’s leading experts in geometry and dynamical systems. In 2014, she was awarded the Fields Medal for her outstanding contributions to the dynamics and geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces, becoming the first woman to be recognized for her mathematical achievements by this top mathematical prize.

The CHL organizes, in partnership with the IRMAR gender equity commission, a day on gender issues in mathematics, on May 2nd from 10am to 4pm, in Rennes. The main objective of the day is to promote the exchange of experiences and practices between the members of the gender equality commissions/committees of the different laboratories. It will also be an opportunity to discuss the role and missions of these committees and any interested person in the member labs of the CHL is invited to participate in this exchange.
