Let's celebrate (young) women in mathematics!
London Hopper Colloquium is an event for women academic researchers across the UK who are building a career in Computer Science. It features women speakers talking about their research, a spotlight competition open to postgraduate research students, and opportunities to network with other new researchers in computing. This year’s event will be held in-person in London at UCL.
We will hear from women about their work on innovations that will change the world, fact checking, verification, and natural language generation.
In commemoration of the International Day of Women in Mathematics, LISN and the Graduate School of Computer Science and Digital Sciences are organizing a day for students to discover the work and careers of computer scientists and mathematicians. These researchers and engineers will come and present their work to you in the form of presen
The theme of our Women in Mathematics Workshop centers around “Celebrating Diversity and Advancing Mathematical Frontiers.” Through this theme, we aim to spotlight the great contributions of women mathematicians across a spectrum of specialized fields, including partial differential equations, logic, combinatorics, analysis, graph theory, statistics, algebra, and geometry. This theme reflects our commitment to breaking gender barriers and challenging longstanding stereotypes within the field of mathematics.
There will be three inspirational talks by female mathematicians:Roberta Bianchini (Cnr-Iac,Roma) Chiara de Fabritiis (Coordinatrice del Comitato per le Pari Opportunità dell’Unione Matematica Italiana), Pegah Moshir Pour

Talks by: Paola Lattaro (Iti Leonardo da Vinci-Matematici per la Città) “La matematica ti fa bella”;
Serena Cenatiempo (GSSI) “Una sfida matematica: le bizzarrie del mondo microscopico”;
Donatella Iacono e Sabina Milella (Università di Bari) “Che tu sia benedetta! Per quanto assurda e complessa ci sembri, la matematica è perfetta”
The Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (SLMath) in Berkeley, CA celebrates May 12 with a panel discussion and social event open to all on the topic "Being a woman in Mathematics". This is a hybrid event taking place on Zoom and in person at SLMath.
“Women in Mathematics Day” is observed annually on May 12th to mark the anniversary of the eminent lady Mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani’s birth. She was a Mathematician from Iran and a Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University. She was one of the world’s leading experts in geometry and dynamical systems. In 2014, she was awarded the Fields Medal for her outstanding contributions to the dynamics and geometry of Riemann surfaces and their moduli spaces, being the first woman to be recognized for her achievements in mathematics by this prestigious mathematical prize.
