12 May is a joyful opportunity for the mathematical community to celebrate women in mathematics. The celebration takes place every year, all around the world. The goal of the day is to inspire women everywhere to celebrate their achievements in mathematics, and to encourage an open, welcoming, and inclusive work environment for everybody. This day is in honour of Maryam Mirzakhani, born on 12 May 1977, the first and only woman to be awarded the Fields Medal.

Join the Malta Mathematical Society on the 12th of May to learn more about the female mathematicians working at the Faculty of Science residing in the University of Malta. This seminar shall delve deeper into their mathematical journey from students to researchers.

In commemoration of the International Women's in Mathematics Day, the "women in STEM" group of the UACJ and the state coordinator of the RMJP (Red Mundial de Jóvenes Políticos) will be performing a panel with 3 young mathematicians in order to recognize their academic trajectory as well as the problems they have been through. 

Some challenges and problems that  women in  mathematics may  face, will be discussed.

On the occasion of Maryam Mirzakhani's birthday, an Iranian lady scientist, contemporary mathematician, who is named International Women's Day in Mathematics in the calendar of international scientific events, is holding the second leading scientific event (GAP) focusing on the ideas of female students in basic and technical sciences.

As part of the conference GABY 2022 in Milano - Bicocca, we present the new  Equity Diversity Inclusion Session.

The EDI Session will take place on Tuesday June 14, 2022 at the University of Milano - Bicocca and it will be open to everyone (not only the registered participants of the conference GABY 2022).

University of Turin and Politecnico of Turin organize an event on the occasion of the Women in Mathematics Day, on 19 May 2022.
During the morning session, young female PhD students will introduce their research work in the fields of Pure and Applied Mathematics. 

Tunisian Women Mathematicians Association TWMA in partnership with the gender unit of the University of Sousse organize an event on the occasion of May 12th. It will be held at ESSTHS (the Higher School of Science and Technology of Hammam Sousse), on Thursday May 12, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This day is celebrated in its 4th edition by women mathematicians of the world. Note that the day is dedicated to Mariam Mirzakhani, the only woman winner of the Fields medal (2014). She died in 2017 from breast cancer. The theme chosen this year is

Mathematics Gathering

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Calabria celebrates Maryam Mirzakhani and all other women in mathematics with a day of scientific dissemination and interaction with students of all levels. There will be a conference with some scientific talks, a few activities with school students, a movie projection.
