The New School and the Faculty of Mathematics of the Higher School of Economics decided to organize a small scientific and school conference to coincide with May 12 - the International Day of Women in Mathematics. We'd like to consider the idea of the day a little broader, so, in addition to the scientific component, we also want to make a curtsey to the teachers of mathematics, who have made an important contribution to math through their work.

Celebration of Women in Mathematics in Japan
We will have 4 mathematical talks by Prof. Noriko Hirata, Prof. Hiraku Nakajima, Prof. Motoko Kotani and Prof. Asuka Takatsu. Then Panel Discussion "Toward Gender-Equal Society" will be held. Finally, the movie "Secrets of the Surface" will be shown.
This conference will be held online (zoom).
May 12 in Rome: Celebrating Women in Mathematics (Italy)
The event consists of a talk by Maria Colombo, EPFL Lausanne, on the subject "The transport equation: questions and new results", with an opening address by Roberta Fulci, a young scientific writer well known in Italy because of her book "Ragazze con i numeri" published in February 2021.
