The initiative, called “Alicia Boole: seeing the fourth dimension” will be held at Caffè Letterario Binario49 (Reggio Emilia) and will be open to anyone interested.
It will be introduced by Tindara Addabbo, Rector’s Delegate for Equal Opportunities at Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia and by Annalisa Rabitti, Councilor for Culture, Territorial Marketing and Equal Opportunities (Municipality of Reggio Emilia).
UOW International Women in Maths Day, Wollongong, Australia
Join students and staff from the University of Wollongong School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics to celebrate the life of Iranian mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani.
The 2024 UOW event includes a screening of the documentary Secrets of the Surface on the life of Maryam, with food and movie snacks.
The event is organised by the UOW Maths and Stats Society and the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences, with financial support from the Australian Mathematical Society Women in Mathematics Special Interest Group (WIMSIG).

Ti invitiamo a festeggiare con noi le donne in matematica.
La prima parte del pomeriggio sarà dedicata a Maryam Mirzakhani, la prima donna a ricevere la medaglia Fields: il 12 maggio ricorre l'anniversario della sua nascita e "May 12" è ormai riconosciuto dalla comunità matematica mondiale come il giorno delle donne in matematica.
Poi faremo una merenda insieme, e chi vorrà potrà spostarsi sul prato per parlare informalmente delle difficoltà nei primi anni del corso di Laurea in Matematica all’Università di Pisa, con attenzione particolare a questioni di genere.

At Mathematics Münster, we are celebrating gender diversity with several events and digital activities throughout the week from 13-17 May in the context of the May12 initiative.
Part of the celebration will be a public screening of the short documentaries "Alicia Boole in the land of polytopes" and "Kovalevskaya' Spinning Top" on May 13 at 1:00 pm in the Cluster building at the Department of Mathematics in Münster.
