Join us to celebrate the International Day of Women in Mathematics on May 12th with an exciting and enriching panel discussion. We will have the honor of featuring four inspiring women in the field of math education who work as teachers and researchers in the training of engineers. Through this live discussion, we will explore their experiences, challenges, and successes in a field traditionally dominated by men, and discuss how math education can be improved to promote the success of more women in engineering and technology careers.

Maryam Mirzhakani: Some Glimpses of her life and work & Applications of Mathematics

May 12 is the birthday of Maryam Mirzhakani, the first woman to win a Field's Medal in 2014. In this talk Prof. Geetha Venkataraman will briefly reminisce about Maryam's life and work before looking at the ubiquity and usefulness of mathematics through some of its applications.

Women in Mathematics Day Event

We organize a one-day event on behalf of the Association for Turkish Women in Mathematics (TKMD) to celebrate the 12th May Women in Mathematics Day, both face-to-face and online.

Honouring Maryam Mirzakhani and Indian Women in Mathematics: A Special Dialogue

Department of Mathematics at BML Munjal University, Gurugram is organizing a special dialogue to honour Maryam Mirzakhani and Indian Women in Mathematics. The session will be followed by interaction with the participants.

The purpose of this event is to motivate women to recognize and commemorate their successes in the field of mathematics.

Guest Lecture

On the occasion of International Women in Mathematics Day, which is celebrated in honour of Filed Medallist, Maryam Mirzakhani, we have invited Prof Geetha Venkataraman to deliver an online session for faculty and Ph D scholars, to speak about the life of Prof. Maryam as well as the contribution of Indian women in Mathematics.

Celebrating Women in Mathematics

The even is to mark May 12 as the International Day of Women in Mathematics.

There will be a panelist discussion for one hour.

Reactions and questions would be entertained after the discussion.

The programme will take place from 9:00GMT - 11:00GMT.

Participants are expected from all over the world  most especially from Africa.

International Women in Mathematics Day in Ukraine

At our online event, women mathematicians will talk about famous women mathematicians of the past and present. Was Hypatia really the first female mathematician, or did it all start much earlier? Who are Eniac girls? And which female mathematician did Albert Einstein especially praise? You can learn about all this at our event.
