Movie projection

Pour célébrer la Journée internationale des mathématiciennes, nous organisons en collaboration avec le Coeur des sciences de l'UQAM et le Centre de recherches mathématiques la projection du documentaire Secrets of the surface : The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani, film réalisé par George Csicsery.

La projection sera suivie d’une discussion avec :

• Termeh Kousha, mathématicienne d’origine iranienne, directrice générale de la Société mathématique du Canada;

The School of Mathematics and Physical Sciences celebrates Women in Mathematics Day with a social event open to all.

We will screen two animated documentaries: “Alicia Boole in the land of polytopes” and “Kovaleskaya' Spinning Top” (11 minutes each).

Celebration for students and employees at the mathematics department with coffee, cakes, and film screening. 

In commemoration of the International day of Women in Mathematics the Mathematics and Computer Science Department through its AWM Student Chapter will project the movies Alicia Boole in the land of polytopes and  Kovalevskaia’s spinning top.

The Applied Science Department is organising screening of two short films  "Alicia Boole in the land of polytopes"  and "Kovalevskaia’s spinning top" on May 8, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in Room No.33 in the context of May 12. 

We will meet at the MARC, in the first floor of the math department for a study break this Friday May 3 at noon.

Join us to celebrate Women in Math day with Pizza, community time and the projection of two 11 minutes animated documentaries "Alicia Boole in the land of polytopes" and "Kovaleskaya's Spinning Top" 

Reseña Evento: Con motivo de la conmemoración del día internacional de las mujeres matemáticas, nos sumamos a las actividades en reconocimiento a las notables mujeres académicas, científicas que contribuyen a la creación y descubrimiento de nuevas fronteras de la matemática.

The initiative, called “Alicia Boole: seeing the fourth dimension” will be held at Caffè Letterario Binario49 (Reggio Emilia) and will be open to anyone interested.

It will be introduced by Tindara Addabbo, Rector’s Delegate for Equal Opportunities at Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia and by Annalisa Rabitti, Councilor for Culture, Territorial Marketing and Equal Opportunities (Municipality of Reggio Emilia).
