La Facultad de Ciencias de la Universidad de Tarapacá junto al Proyecto en consorcio Ciencia 2030, en el marco del Día Internacional de la Mujer matemática, invita a la comunidad universitaria a la proyección del documental: Secretos de la superficie: la visión matemática de Maryam Mirzakhani, el día jueves 15 de mayo a las 16:00 horas en el Auditorio Carlos Herrera, de la Universidad de Tarapacá, en Arica - Chile.

The event will consist of a film screening, supported by the May12 initiative (https://may12.womeninmaths.org/), to celebrate the International Day of Women in Mathematics.
The film programmed is "Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani", a documentary on the life and mathematical work of Maryam Mirzakhani (directed by George Csicsery).
Dans le cadre de la campagne 2025 May 12, Celebrating Women in Mathematics, AFRIMath organise une séance de ciné-club en ligne pour visionner le film "Parcours de mathématiciennes et mathématiciens noirs : Forger la résilience", avec des sous-titre en français.
O evento tem como objetivo celebrar o Dia Internacional da Mulher na Matemática (12 de maio) por meio da exibição de documentários que destacam as contribuições, desafios e conquistas de mulheres na matemática.
The films will be shown across the school.
In celebration of International Women in Mathematics Day 2025, the Isaac Newton Institute and Centre for Mathematical Sciences will be screening a film that tells the story of the renowned mathematician Olga Aleksandrovna Ladyzhenskaya (1922–2004) who is celebrated for her contributions to partial differential equations, fluid dynamics and influence on the development of modern mathematical physics.
The documentary "Secrets of the Surface" about the work and life of Maryam Mirzakhani will be screened at 3.30 in Room THB-G10 in the Hardiman Research Building at the University of Galway. Everyone is welcome.
